Mail in Uruguay is spotty at the best of times. Send a package regular mail from the states for Christmas…expect it to arrive for Valentine’s day. And with the arrival of summer, you never know when you are going to get mail. There was a huge mail strike not too long ago, and the mail is now backlogged. I cannot tell you how many times my aunts ask if I have gotten my Christmas cards yet. The answer is still no.
So imagine my surprise when last week I received not one but TWO packages from the states! One was from my college roommate’s sweet mama. She was notorious for sending us cards of love in college. They always brightened our day. And this package was just as Mrs. Cardwell and brightening as ever! Filled with memorabilia from college, along with some yummy treats and items to occupy my time in chemo, the Cardwell package took me back to a time where life was a little less complicated and a little more light-hearted. Thank you so much, Mrs. Cardwell. You have indeed made my day! You are loved and appreciated. Big Hugs!
The second package arrived shortly afterwards. The notoriously awesome Lori Cox figured out that Amazon does, indeed, ship to Uruguay. Filled with silly socks, Dr. Seuss items and some of the best professional colored pencils I have used (Mikey would be so jealous!), made for some serious giggling as Mom and I played around like children. Then there were the sweet notes from the Cox family on the order forms. Lori, you nailed my craving for laughter and fun and I am so grateful for the love and support from you and your family. I love you to the moon and back, beautiful lady! And I cannot wait to see you and give you a big squeeze in San Antonio when all of this is over! Big kisses!
I loooooved the socks ❤️
