There are some things that are so uniquely Uruguay. It gets windy so people break out the winter coats. It is summer so people take random vacations and forget that there are patients waiting for lab results.
I went to my doctor today to check my blood before chemo (platelets are a little low but white and red cells are fine). We were hoping the results of the PET would be in to give the green light for chemo Thursday. My doctor called the director of Cudim and asked him what the deal was (in much more polite Spanish). Come to find out, the technician took a vacation, so now the director is handling my case personally. It pays to know doctors in high places. So while I nervously wait for the PET to come in tomorrow, Mom and I are making my balcony beautiful.
And while we are at it, Mom decided to have a little fun with the snap dragons.

I’m so sorry you have to wait for results, but no better way to pass the time than enjoying the beauty of nature. Flowers make you feel so good and give immediate gratification. I’m confident that your test results will be equally as gratifying. Sending lots of love and good thoughts your way and as always, thanks for keeping us posted. I love your blogs. Kim-I was unaware of your recent diagnosis until today. I’ve been off Facebook since early November and happened to get back on today and saw this post…And I was like, “Wait-WHAT?!!!!” Soooo-I’ve spent the last hour or so catching up on your life and your cancer adventures thus far…. I cried. I was sad. I got mad…. But I tell you the thought that stayed consistent and is present as I type: IF ANYONE IS GOING TO KICK CANCER’S ASS-IT IS SHOELESS WEARING, AMAZING, BRILLIANT KIM COYLE!!!!!!!!!!
